No it shouldn't. Reinhart has improved this year and 5.5 to 6 should be the amounts. Otherwise, see if another team will sign him for higher than that.

Scored 42, 47 and 50 points in his first 3 seasons.

Bo Horvat scored 25, 40 and 52 points in his first 3 seasons.

Bo Horvat signed that deal. 6y 33m.

Horvat is a center. Better all around player, so perhaps you are right. Just saying, it wasn't all that out of bounds.

If Skinner signs and Dahlin plays lights out next year (on his way to a big contract), Samson may end up being our first cap casualty.

Im 50 years old and have wanted the sabres to be truly good for my entire adult life.

I have totally given up on the two franchises in this town. They are literally NEVER any good. NEVER. Im a guy that would spend tens of thousands of dollars on tickets, parking, concessions, gear. Instead...the continue to not get ONE DAMN CENT of my money...at least when I go to the casino theres a CHANCE of me leaving happy. With our two teams, none.

This Sabres season was the deal breaker. Im calling my lawyer.

truth be told, I called for a 3yr./$11m deal saying "both sides should be happy with that"

Ripped they have been good in the past. 1974-75 they were very close. Just a competent coach and better goaltending miss.

Reinhart's agent is going to use RNH as a comparable

In 2014 he signed a 7 year $42 million contract

The cap was $63 million

9.5% of the cap was his contract when it was signed

Next years cap is going to be around $83 million

In 2021 say its $85 million

To get the same 9.5% of the cap it would be about $8.10 million per year

So because it was the Oilers who gave RNH that deal we can use that against Reinhart.

But he is going to end up somewhere between $7-$7.5 million on his next deal (if we are lucky)

Would've been nice to get that extra year of cheap usage. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. I wasn't sure on it last offseason either...truth be told.
